The polarities and controversies of the human condition

What a fascinating collection of juxtapositions, polarities, controversies the human condition holds. Movement and stillness. Pain and pleasure. Seriousness and silliness. Loud and quiet. Home. Away. Insiders and outsiders, both within. The child within the adult. The adult within the child.

Every state and condition is a point on a continuum from one polarity to the other. And the more we embrace and explore the full spectrum and its manifestation within our consciousness, the more intimate, visceral our experience of life.

Some of my deepest experiences of tenderness have come in pain and sadness. Invincibility in my darkest fears. Love, devotion, sharedness in the midst of loneliness and threat.
