During a recent run, I was reflecting on what I’m working towards in life and how I am both the biggest threat and biggest asset to the life I want to create.
My performance, what I produce, can never exceed my level of personal growth. The thoughts I think, the actions I take stem out of who I am—out of my mindset.
Trying to achieve something that’s incongruent with my mindset is like planting a cucumber and expecting a coconut to grow. Learning Japanese but expecting to speak French.
Mindset is what runs us.
And mindset is what we’re running towards—whether we know it or not.
The purpose of the things we want to achieve is to become the person capable of achieving them.
The purpose of being that person is to have the *experience * of life that person has.
Mindset is what produces that experience.
