Resistance shows up in various ways—denial, lying to oneself, missing the forest for the trees, perfectionism, procrastination, self-sabotage.
When we resist, we look whatever it is we’re resisting in place. We block the flow of feelings and thoughts and rather than pass through us, they stay in us and grow in impact over time.
We resist because we’re afraid, ashamed, or angry. But unless we face what we’re so hard trying not to face, we’d continue to be on the receiving end of its force.
We’re both the obstacle and the opportunity in our own life. To move forward, we first need to arrive here. And we do, when we get out of judgement and accept life as it is.
