It’s not excellence that brings us close to excellence, it’s accepting the lack of it. It’s knowing how to be, without judgement, resentment or resistance, with the difficult moments.
We grow when we make progress. But we grow more when we learn to accept failure and regress. When we make space for all aspects of our humanity, especially those that are most difficult to make space for.
Excellence is not the absence of failure. It’s not letting setbacks shape who you are.
